Unwrapping your art

Read these tips before opening your package.

Unwrapping your art after you receive it is easy, just follow some simple rules.

Note: We usually place paintings in a separate box or folder in a larger box – “box in a box” – to protect it during transit.

1. When you get your package in the mail, take care when opening the outer box, especially when cutting the packing tape. Do not cut deep into the box, just enough to cut the tape.

2. When you see the smaller box or folder with your painting, just take care in opening that too. Never force anything.
If it’s a folder, simply remove the small piece of tape (usually blue tape) so you can open the folder.

3. If the painting is held in by paper corners, simply rip the paper corners back and carefully remove the painting. See photo example below.

4. If the painting is wrapped in wax paper or other paper simply remove it, carefully.

After you have the painting out, always handle it with care to keep it safe and clean. If you put it back in the box/folder, be sure there are no sticky surfaces or tape that will touch the painting.

That should do it.

Example: If your painting has paper corners holding it in a folder, it’s ok to simply rip the paper corners back to remove the painting.
